Yesterday, the National Genealogical Society posted a link on it's Facebook page to a 3D representative animation of London prior to The Great Fire of 1666. The six students from De Montfort University who created this work took home first place in a competition co-run by the British Library and video game developers. The link to the animation may be found at: http://www.openculture.com/2013/11/fly-through-17th-century-london.html The team's blog is located at: http://puddinglanedmuga.blogspot.co.uk/ It's worth a look at their blog to see the extensive research, work and thought process that went into creating the animation.
And, speaking of the National Genealogical Society, the NGS 2014 Family History Conference will be held in Richmond, Virginia from May 7-10. It's an exciting opportunity for those of us east coasters who couldn't make it to Las Vegas last year. The link to the conference page is: http://conference.ngsgenealogy.org/
