WELCOME TO THE NICHOLAS ROBBINS FAMILY WEB SITE

Nicholas Robbins, our family founder, came to New England in 1635 and was an early Proprietor at Cambridge in the Massachusetts Bay Colony until 1638 and at Duxbury in Plymouth Colony until his death in 1651. All his descendants resided in Plymouth Colony/County in present-day Massachusetts until the 1740s. Thereafter, various branches migrated throughout the United States and Canada.

The goal of this web site is the expansion of knowledge about our family, its history and traditions, and the promotion of kinship. This in an interactive site and everyone is welcome to submit queries, share information or supply articles for publication on matters related to our family. Refer to the submission guidelines in the respective sections. The web site has been expanded. In addition to this revised Home and Welcome page, the site now includes the following sections:

A Newsletter will be published 2-4 times a year depending on interest and material received. It may include current research, vital record and deed abstracts, probate and surrogate records, church records, military service data, DNA research, obituaries and cemetery transcriptions, to name a few.

The Photo Album consolidates the previous photo sections for Cambridge, Duxbury and Shoemaking. It will be expanded to include more topics as we receive photos from family members.

The Supplements section will continue to be published as a series of biographical sketches which expand upon the Family History. This section supplies information about the descendants of Nicholas Robbins beyond the first eight generations covered by the book and has been very helpful to people seeking links to our family.

A Memorabilia section is also being added. This section may include diary abstracts, travel accounts, poetry, hymns, essays and the like. It will focus on items written by Nicholas Robbins descendants.

The Research Assistance section will include the names and contact information for members and friends of our family, who have expertise about our family which they are willing to share. It will also include contact information for lineage societies such as DAR, SAR and SOMD.

Credits includes the names of those who help make this web site possible. Thank you all very much.
